17 Berryman Street is an expression of old and new. Originally built in 1888, and recently designated as a Heritage Property, the façade of the two-storey Victorian home is restored to maintain the existing streetscape. The third level is thoughtfully set back from the street so as not to impose on the existing scale and rhythm of the neighbouring houses. The interior is completely renovated to create an open floor plan finished in contemporary materials. The three-storey, modernist expression at the rear of the house is designed with ample full-height glazing to let an abundance of natural light into the home.
